IS ALCOHOL STILL ALLOWED ON THE BEACH? Some have the misconception that alcoholic beverages are no longer allowed on the beaches at PCB. This law only applies during March of each year. The rest of the year alcoholic beverages are allowed on the beach.
HOW DO WE GET THE KEYS? Our door is keyless. We will email you your own code days before your arrival date.
WHAT IS THE UNIT NUMBER? 1317. It is on the far east end on the 13th floor. It is a corner unit.
HOW DO I GET TO THE CONDO? The condo address is 16819 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, Florida, 32413. Just set that on your GPS or enter it at a map website for directions.
WHEN ARE THE CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT TIMES? CAN I CHECK IN ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK? Check in is anytime after 4:00 p.m. central time. Some times the condo will be ready before 4 p.m. If so, I will let you know by text. Check out is no later than 10:00 a.m. This is strictly enforced due to time constraints. In high demand time (like summer and spring breaks) Saturday check in can result in long waits for the elevators. There are hundreds of units at the Tidewater. We do not require Saturday to Saturday rental. You can arrive on any day. In the summer, most owners require a Saturday to Saturday reservation, so you have hundreds of people checking in on Saturday around 4 p.m.. So you need to factor that in. You may want to arrive and depart on another day, or if you do arrive on Saturday be prepared for that wait, or go have dinner or get groceries before you arrive to let the crowd ease up some.
WHAT ABOUT PARKING? We are allotted three parking spaces (no particular one, first come, first serve) in the parking deck across the street. There is a skywalk on the second floor that goes across to the registration area at the resort. The maximum clearance height is seven feet.
DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS? We accept payments through VENMO and the Square Cash App. You can pay by credit card through either of those. If you have an American Express App "Send and Split" you can pay by American Express through VENMO without incurring VENMO's fee. We also accept personal checks and bank certified checks. You can also pay by credit card through our VRBO website, but please note VRBO charges you a service fee.
WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE? To reserve a time period you send in a $300 security deposit (along with a signed contract that we will email you.) Thirty days prior to your check in date we need to have received your payment in full. The reason for the thirty period is two fold: 1) To make sure your check clears the bank, and 2) In case you did not pay without letting us know, it gives us time to try to rent out that week to someone else.
CAN WE CANCEL THE CONTRACT? Guest(s) can cancel their reservation at any time without penalty 60 days or further out from the check in date. If Guest(s) cancel between 31 and 60 days from the check in date, ½ of the rent will still be due. If Guest(s) cancel any time 30 days or less from the check in date, then the full rent will still be due. We will use reasonable efforts to try to rent it to someone else and credit whatever rent we get to what would be owed by the Guest(s). If we can get it rented for the full rental amount, Guest(s) would owe nothing however the full security deposit would be forfeited. NOTWITHSTANDING the above, if due to order by the State of Florida, Bay County, or the City of Panama City Beach, the lessors are prohibited from renting the property or the beach is closed to the public due to pandemic related issues during the above rental period, the Guest(s) will be entitled to a 100% refund should the Guest(s) choose not to come.
IS THERE MAID SERVICE? Unlike hotels, vacation condos typically do not offer cleaning services during the guest's stay. We have a professional team clean the unit before each guest arrives. Linens are changed. Twelve fresh towels, twelve wash clothes, new soap and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom are supplied. You can bring additional towels and wash clothes if you like. It would be best to bring colored ones so you can easily distinguish them from the ones we supply. During your stay you will be responsible for your laundry as needed (we have a washer and dryer in the unit), and additional soap and toilet paper as needed. Laundry detergent is not supplied; so please remember to bring some or you can pick up some at a local grocery store.
IS THIS A NON-SMOKING UNIT? Yes, absolutely no smoking in the unit or on the balcony.
WHAT ABOUT PETS? We love our little yorkie, but sorry no pets of any kind are allowed.
HOW IS THE KITCHEN STOCKED? There is no food in the kitchen, but there are plenty of dishes, glasses, pots, pans, and cooking and eating utensils. A regular coffee maker, Keurig, blender, crock pot, and toaster are also in the kitchen. The refrigerator has an ice maker in its freezer. Grilling on the balcony is prohibited by HOA rules. So you will not find a grill. A public grill area is available on the ground level. Winn Dixie as well as other grocery stores are nearby.
ARE THERE LUGGAGE CARTS ON SITE? Yes, but they are limited. Go to the second floor of the Tidewater to check on out. You must present a drivers license to be able to get one of the carts. PLEASE DO NOT BRING THE CART INSIDE THE UNIT, as it can easily mark the walls, etc.
DOES THE POOL REQUIRE BADGES OR BANDS? Yes. Tidewater Resorts requires guests to check in on the second floor to receive your parking pass and resort wrist bands. These bands must be worn to have access to the amenities: pool, fitness gym, etc. Tidewater charges $35 per unit for this service.
CAN WE RENT BEACH CHAIRS AND UMBRELLAS? Yes you can. But we provide the use of two of the professionally set up beach loungers and one umbrella FREE (in season from Mar. 1st to Oct. 20. Exact dates may vary according to the vendor.). You can rent more if you wish. Also, be sure to check the north master bedroom closet. Usually other guests have left items. Often you will find beach chairs, umbrellas, wave boards, floats, sand toys, etc. Feel free to use whatever you like.
DO WE NEED TO BUY BOTTLED WATER? Surprisingly the water at PCB does not have that funny taste like at Destin and other coastal towns. Also, our side by side refrigerator has a filtered water dispenser. The water is good to us! We usually do not buy any bottled water.
WHAT ABOUT HURRICANES? Hurricane season is officially from June 1 through November 30. The peak time tends to be late August through September. However, landfall hurricanes are not that common. On average, two major hurricanes will make landfall somewhere on the U.S. every three years. About five hurricanes of any size will make landfall somewhere on the U.S. every three years. We do not issue refunds due to the threat of a hurricane. However if there is a mandatory evacuation you will receive a pro rated refund for each date of your vacation during the period of the mandatory evacuation.
WHO DO WE CALL IF THERE IS A PROBLEM? In the unlikely event there is a needed repair, you can call or email us. You will have the email addresses and cell numbers for both of us. Although we both work, we will make every effort to get the matter corrected as soon as possible.
