Information to assist you in enjoying your stay at the TIDEWATER 1317
To watch TV...
In the Living Room and the two Master Bedrooms: All have ROKU TVs. The TVs are in guest mode. Follow the prompts to enter your check out date. Then you can add your favorite streaming apps and log in. When you check out, the TV will sign out automatically for you. Click on Live TV to watch local cable.
To watch a game console, the north master bedroom, select Game Console from the Roko Remote and attach your game console to the hanging HDMI cable (HDMI 2).
When you click on Cable TV in guest mode, initially Roku will also include all of its free TV streaming (which is a lot)! To remove those, just go to Settings-, TV Input- Cable TV- Manage Channels and check that box that says hide streaming channels.
We have a HD Cable TV and ROKU in the Queen room. To watch cable TV, turn on the TV using the ONN Univiersal remote for the JVC TV. Press TV to control the TV with the universial remote. and select INPUT to make sure it it set to Cable (HDMI-1). When you press the power button, it is usually a few seconds before you will see "JVC" come up on the screen. Press TV to control tv channels.
To use the ROKU in the queen room-- Just press the input button on the Onn Universal remote, scroll down and select ROKU. There are other channels available as well. If you have a HULU Live, Youtube-TV or other Streaming TV you are welcome to sign in for HD TV. Just be sure to logout before you check out. You can control the ROKU box either by using the universal remote and pressing Streaming, or simply by using the ROKU remote.
If you log in Netflix with your account, here is how to log out:
Begin from the Netflix Home screen.
To open the menu, navigate left and select Get Help.
If you don't see Get Help, navigate up and select Settings or the Settings icon .
Select Sign out.
Select Yes to confirm.
We have an Ecobee Thermostat. To change the temperature, just tap anywhere on the display and use the arrows to adjust. When you adjust, it will change to your temperature and stay that way for four hours.
The normal thermostat temperature is set for 71 degrees during the day and 68 at night. If this is uncomfortable for you, email me and I can adjust. If you open the balcony door the AC will turn off until the door is closed again.
If you come in from the beach and it seems warmer than 71 degrees that is because it senses when you leave and when you return. It will come back on when you arrive and go back to 71 degrees.
Because the living area is virtually all glass with 9 all glass panels, it will be warmer than the bedrooms. You should find a box fan in the second master bedroom closet. And there is a large pedestal fan in the queen room closet. We like to put it in hallway to blow the cooler air toward the living area. It really makes a difference. If you decide to use it, please put it back in the closet before you leave.
You may notice in most rooms a little square box on the walls about 2 inches wide by 2 inches. They are temperature sensors for the cooling system. Please do not touch them.

BEACH SERVICE: We have paid for beach service in season for you (two lounge chairs and one umbrella) a savings of over $200 for a week. You may rent more if you like. Inform the attendant of your unit number (1317) and he/she can verify that you have paid for service. You may need to give him the my name. You have two options with the beach service:
For any row other than the first row, you can reserve with the attendant the same set for the length of your entire stay. That way you only have to get in line to reserve one time.
If you want on the front row, you must get in line every morning to try to get on the front row. They start at 8:30 a.m.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THE REFRIGERATOR’S TEMPERATURE SETTING IS NOT AT ITS COLDEST SETTING. According to a technician that actually makes it NOT work as well. Both the freezer and refrigerator setting should be near the middle. You should find the refrigerator empty when you arrive. When you add room temperature items, it takes a while for the refrigerator to get all of them cold. Also make sure no item you add is blocking the damper from the freezer to the refrigerator near the back of the refrigerator. HERE IS A TIP: If you have bought or brought several canned drinks, put them in the freezer first for 25 minutes or so. Then move them to the refrigerator. Putting several room temperature drinks in the previously empty refrigerator takes a long time to get cool.
DEHUMIDIFIER: You should find a dehumidifier at the end of the hallway. On top of the unit, you will see if the water bucket is full as shown on the display. Please pull out the water bucket (see complete instructions below) and pour it out either in the kitchen sink or a bathtub. Return it to the unit and it should start automatically. (If it does not you can press the power button.) You can set it to continuously run or you can select the comfort setting and enter the humidity setting you would like (55% for example). Overnight, it will usually have cut off because the bucket is full. You will find that it is more comfortable with lower humidity. Unless the humidity gets really high, you do not have to use it.
Approximately twenty fresh towels, twenty wash clothes, new soap and an initial supply of toilet paper are supplied by the cleaning company.
BUNKS: The bunks have two beds, but there is also a third bed that is a trundle. If your family / group plans on using the trundle, please let me know so I can have the cleaners prepare it.
On checking out, here is what you need to do: 1. Remove trash. The trash chute is near the one elevator on the east end. 2. Leave beds unmade. It helps if you take the sheets off but leave them on the bed. Leave dirty towels, etc. in a bathtub or by the laundry. 3. Place any dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start it. BTW, the copper pots and pans are dishwasher safe. 4. Clean all pots and pans and return to their proper locations in the cabinets. Be sure to not use abrasive utensils on teflon. 5. Empty out the refrigerator and freezer. 6. Make sure the coffee makers are unplugged. 7. Drop off your wristbands in the bin provided on the second floor. 8. Text me at 256-565-1904 when you leave just stating you have checked out of Tidewater 1317. This allows our cleaners to get started ASAP. You should also find a check out procedures letter from the cleaners inside the unit.
CHECK OUT TIME is FIRMLY at 10 a.m. Our cleaners are on a very tight schedule, so please adhere to this. Your door code will quit working shortly after 10 a.m.
